A Closing Day Story as Told By Photos

Closing Day is often one of the most memorable and exciting day of someones life. (Aside from other obvious memorable days like Wedding, Birth, etc). We decided to document this momentous day in photos…

Curb appeal is everything these days. It helps you sell your home, increases the value of your property, and is your neighborhoods first impression of you. What part of curb appeal is most important? The mailbox. Now, I know what you are thinking. How can a mailbox really be the most important aspect of my homes curb appeal? So let’s think logically for a second. Your mailbox is the first thing seen from your home, as well as the part of your home interacted with the most. So obviously it should be the very first thing you think about when revamping your curb!

So it is clear that you need to redesign your mailbox, but how? There are endless possibilities with mailbox design in this day in age and trying to choose the right option for your home can be debilitating. Do you go big? Keep things simple? Add plants? Opt-in for a brick element? Use paint? With so many options, we have come up with a guide to help you choose! Here are 4 innovative ways to redesign your mailbox.

First and foremost, we have the simple suggestion of a fresh coat of paint. Something so simple can create a welcoming, inviting atmosphere, or perhaps define your family as the neighborhood royalty. You options are vast. Choose a contrasting color for a cool POP, or a warm color for something more homey. You might also choose to paint designs for a more “free-spirited” type feel to your property.

The second suggestion is short and sweet. Flowers and greenery. A pleasing landscape has never hurt a property, and adding a few of nature’s finest aesthetics to your mailbox will set you apart in the most environmentally friendly way.

Next comes the magnificent art of a brick element. This has been a popular trend in suburban neighborhoods starting in the early 2000’s. Not only does it give your landscape an extra “umph”, but it also adds a layer of security to your mailbox, should some newly licensed teenager accidentally give it a bump. Now obviously brick is more costly and time consuming than a simple coat of paint or plants, but can add twice as much value to your home in terms of elegance. Contrary to popular belief, a brick mailbox does not have to be bulky or even bold. Even the most simple brick designs can transform your lawn to into a modern or mid-century masterpiece. For an extra kick, add a flower bed! 2-in-1.

Last but not least, I present you with the “blast from the past!” That is right. Turn your curb into a time capsule and add some historical pieces. There are few people than can resist loving the Victorian era style, which could come in handy when redesigning your lawn. Even if your home is built in a modern style, the contrast of a different era can compliment your curb appeal nicely, (if the cards are played right). These cast iron beauties are sturdy, strong and will stand the test of time. If Victorian is not quite your style, check out some different era pieces. You will be surprised at the variety. Between Victorian, Georgian, Mid-Century Modern, Medieval Gothic, Classic Modern, or Rustic Countryside, you are sure to find something!

So there you have it! With the suggestions here and a little bit of your own imagination, you should be able to redesign your mailbox with ease, and increase the value of your home with minimal effort. Let us know your results in the comments below!
